Hopewell Christian Academy receives $5000 RE-Cares Grant

Hopewell Christian Academy (HCA), Reed Construction Data, and the Hopewell Community Center (HCC) are joining forces to introduce Hopewell Green Community Partnership to help introduce students in K5 through 12th grade to community partnerships. The students will partner with residents in the Senior Services Program (Seniors who 55 years and older) to develop Eco-friendly projects that will be beneficial to the community, overall character building, and academics.

HCAGCP is a service project designed to enhance the awareness of living healthier lives in a pesticide free environment using compost and other natural items found in the community for fertilizer and organic nutrients(will be referred to as Eco-friendly hence) producing an Eco-friendly environment. It provides the opportunity for the citizens of the community to become well rounded and informed about the health risk associated with harmful pesticides and chemicals used in producing our foods. Promoting the long-term health and resilience of the community is a true goal of HCAGCP, so sustainability must be a key part of community involvement. The foundation for sustainability involves maintaining HCAGCP as a mechanism for ongoing implementation of the Eco-friendly strategy. When HCAGCP reached out to the Senior Services Programs in search of ways to contribute and give back it became clear that this project would touch not only the lives of its recipients, but also the youth and our own, as it relates to health concerns.
